DALLAS – Sam Houston’s Cadence Sanders and FIU’s Jayden Boelter and Valery Restrepo earned Conference USA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.
 
Offensive Player of the Week – Jayden Boelter, FIU – Sixth Year – Hebron, Ky.
Boelter claims Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading the Panthers (6-2-3, 3-0 CUSA) to a perfect 2-0 week on the road. The sixth year forward scored two goals in two games and recorded the assist on the game-winning goal against Jax State on Sunday. The Hebron, Ky., native tallied five points on the week and has scored a goal in four straight contests.
 
Defensive Player of the Week – Cadence Sanders, Sam Houston – Junior – Baytown, Texas
Sanders guided the Bearkats (4-3-2, 1-0-1) to a gritty 1-0 triumph over LA Tech on Sunday afternoon. The junior from Baytown, Texas, was all over the field and helped the defense pitch a shutout, limiting the Bulldogs to just seven shots, two of which were on goal. Sanders also had two shots with one on goal to help the offensive attack.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week – Valery Restrepo, FIU – Junior – Medellín, Colombia
Restrepo held strong in net all week as FIU blanked Kennesaw State and defeated Jax State 2-1. The junior keeper pitched her third shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over the Owls with two saves on Thursday night. In Sunday’s win over Jax State, Restrepo tied a season-high with five saves as she saw 10 shots in the contest. FIU is now 3-0 in conference play for the second consecutive season.
