DALLAS – Conference USA concluded its annual Spring Meetings which focused on key initiatives to position the league for continued financial growth and long-term competitive success in the changing landscape of college athletics. Membership engagement with industry leaders, conference partners and subject matter experts advanced opportunities to increase revenues, optimize institutional operations, identify innovative strategies for roster management and transform conference branding.
“We had productive discussions throughout the Spring Meetings centered on positioning Conference USA for continued success in a rapidly evolving collegiate athletics landscape,” said Sam Houston State University President,
Dr. Alisa White. “Our membership remains committed to working collaboratively to identify innovative strategies, strengthen the conference’s long-term growth and create the best possible experience for our student-athletes both academically and competitively.”
In advancement of the strategic initiatives, Jacksonville State University President,
Dr. Don Killingsworth, was selected to serve as Chair of the CUSA Board of Directors. Liberty University President,
Dr. Dondi Costin, was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and selected as Vice Chair. They will be joined on the Executive Committee by Dr. White, Kennesaw State University President,
Dr. Kathy Schwaig and Western Kentucky University President,
Dr. Tim Caboni. The league also recognized Dr. White for her leadership and service during her two-year tenure as Chair of the Board of Directors.
Additional actions during the meetings included the approval of the 2026 Conference USA Hall of Fame Class, the selection of future championship host sites and the naming of the Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship recipients, further highlighting the league’s continued commitment to celebrating excellence across academics, athletics and championship experiences.
