LYNCHBURG, Va. – No. 3 Kennesaw State defeated and eliminated No. 6 FIU 8-0 on day three of the 2025 CUSA Baseball Championship on Friday afternoon from Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium on the campus of Liberty University. The Owls advance and will No. 2 WKU at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday.
Kennesaw State’s
Smith Pinson was electric on the mound, tossing the first complete game in a CUSA Championship since 2023. The right-hander blanked the Panthers, scattering six hits and striking out six with no walks.
The Owls used a five-run first inning and never looked back.
Cooper Williams had an RBI single, and
Jackson Chirello cleared the bases with a knock to right field.
Wesley Alig collected a team-high three hits with a double, one RBI and a run scored.
FIU’s season comes to a close with an overall record of 31-26.
