MBB: November 10 Players of the Week

DALLAS – Liberty’s Zach Cleveland and Kennesaw State’s Trey Simpson earned Conference USA Men’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2025-26 Players of the Week are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
 
CUSA Player of the Week – Zach Cleveland, Liberty – Sr. – F – Bloomington, Ill.
Cleveland claims the season’s first Player of the Week honors after leading the Flames (3-0) to a dominant opening week, including wins over Charleston and Florida Atlantic in the Field of 68 Tip-Off event. The senior forward nearly averaged a triple-double in the three wins with 11.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. On Friday night, Cleveland tallied 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in a 15-point win over Charleston. In Sunday’s 88-68 win over the Owls, he came up one point shy of a triple-double as he dropped nine points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Cleveland is the first Flame with 10 or more assists in a game since 2022.
 
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Trey Simpson, Kennesaw State – Fr. – F – Evergreen, Ala.
Simpson was stellar in his first two collegiate contests for Kennesaw State (2-0). In his season debut, the freshman forward led the Owls in scoring with 18 points on 6-10 shooting, including five made triples in a monster win over Paine College. On Saturday, Simpson added 10 more points and seven boards in a 20-point road win at Florida A&M. For the week, he averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 58.8 percent (10-17) from the floor and 50 percent (7-14) from downtown.
